It was amazing to me tonight that I was able to impress a group of adults twice my age with my taste in music. And more than once I heard, “Wow, I can’t believe someone younger than me has this!”
So right now I am formatting my new 500Gb HDD. Oh this is going to be fun. 500Gb’s of extra space to put video’s and all my music. Oh I cannot wait for this HDD to finish formatting.
I am super excited. I am finally going to be able to see Chevelle. Perhaps one of the best bands that I absolutely love and yet have never seen them play live. Well that is all going to change in a few weeks and I am super excited. Thank goodness I have a new phone with an awesome camera so I don’t have to lug my big camera with me. I cannot wait! March 7th here I come!
And on a side note, Tyler said, “You sure do go to a lot of concerts!” Not nearly enough my friend, not nearly enough.

Chevelle is perhaps one of the best bands ever. I can say this without having seen them live as well. Always able to calm me and take my aggressions away in a non harmful way and put me into a better state of mind.
A dear friend said that they listen to music through headphones and either turn the lights off or simply close their eyes and just let the music wash over them. I have started doing this and it is perhaps one of the most relaxing things to do ever. Especially right before going to work. It puts me in perhaps the calmest mood I have felt in a long time.
Last night was the first time I had ever gotten emotional from listening to this song. I shut out the world and for the first time let the song wash over me.
Water grey
Through the windows
Up the stairs
Chilling rain
Like an ocean
Everywhere
[Chorus]
Don’t wanna reach for me do you
I mean nothin to you
The little things give you away
And now there will be no mistakin
The levees are breakin
All you’ve ever wanted
Was someone to truly look up to you
And six feet, underwater
I do
Hope decays
Generations disappear
Washed away
As a nation simply stares
[Chorus]
Don’t wanna reach for me do you
I mean nothin to you
The little things give you away
But now there will be no mistakin
The levees are breakin
All you’ve ever wanted
Was someone to truly look up to you
And six feet, underwater
I do
All you’ve ever wanted
Was someone to truly look up to you
And six feet, underground now
I
Now I do
[Brad’s Guitar Solo]
Little things give you away
Little things give you away
Little things give you away
Little things give you away
Little things give you away
(Little things give you away)
All you’ve ever wanted
Was someone to truly look up to you
(Little things give you away)
All you’ve ever wanted
Was someone to truly look up to you
(Little things give you away)
All you’ve ever wanted
Was someone to truly look up to you
(Little things give you away)
All you’ve ever wanted
Was someone to truly look up to you
(Little things give you away)
All you’ve ever wanted
Was someone to truly look up to you
(Little things give you away)
All you’ve ever wanted
Was someone to truly look up to you
(Little things give you away)
Linkin Park - “The Little Things Give You Away”
So I guess I should finally start using this account. It will be used strictly for musical musings. Thoughts, idea’s, gatherings that all center around music. For those who truly know me, they know that music means everything to me. Music has given me the opportunity to meet some incredible people both in real life and online as well as allowing me to meet my beautiful wife and my wonderful best friend.
While thinking about using this account I was laying on my couch with all lights off, listening to Linkin Park through headphones when I came upon a saying: “Music is the blanket for the soul.” I don’t know if I came up with that or if I heard it somewhere else, but it is fitting for me.
